DNA HEALTH
The DNA Health test is designed to optimize wellness and health by personalizing lifestyle and nutrition choices and, where appropriate, supplements tailored to compensate for a particular nutritional deficiency based on specific gene variants.
As a practitioner, the DNA health approach helps me determine the optimal nutrition needed for good health, longevity and risk reduction from disease. Diet is a key factor in determining genome stability because it affects all relevant pathways: exposure to food carcinogens, biotransformation, DNA repair and synthesis, and apoptosis. The current recommended daily allowance of vitamins and minerals is largely based on preventing deficient diseases. Because lifestyle diseases are caused in part by damage to DNA, it makes sense to focus our attention on defining optimal requirements for key minerals and vitamins to prevent genomic instability.
Extra attention should be paid to individuals with genetic polymorphisms that alter the bioavailability of specific micronutrients and the affinity of specific key enzymes for their micronutrient cofactor.
Clinical value
  • Highlights specific metabolic pathways that may require additional support
  • Provides recommendations related to optimizing amounts of certain nutrients, vitamins and minerals
  • Suggests that an individual is better able to lower their cholesterol levels through diet, as opposed to medication
  • Indicates degree of sensitivity to the adverse effects of carcinogens ingested in the diet
The DNA Health Test Report offers:
The impact level of identified genetic variants
An explanation of their impact on health
Appropriate nutrition and lifestyle recommendations
The results are divided into sections of major metabolic function, so that genetic weaknesses and strengths within a functional area can be easily identified.
